Living by
the Tae Kwon Do Oath
is not as Hard as you think!

That's Right!! Living the TaeKwonDo Oath is as easy as just being a good person. General Choi's
(the founder of TaeKwonDo) philosophy concerning the
Tenets of Tae Kwon Do hold true with the TaeKwonDo Oath as well.

General Choi felt that TaeKwonDo was his life. He did, after all, dedicate his life to this sport. But he also had dedicated his life to something much more profound at some earlier point before TaeKwonDo.

That other something was to achieve peace in the world. This was the theme of General Choi's life since being in and seeing much of the devistation war wreaks on people and nations. He was actually a prisoner of war, captured by the Japanese, and placed in prison during World War II.

Tae Kwon Do just happened to be his passion and much of the art's development came from these years as a prisoner. The Sport we now know as Tae Kwon Do just happened to end up being the vehicle for his higher purpose.
