Your Self Control must keep pace
with Your Skills!

Learn to be a Leader by Applying These
Guiding Principles of Tae Kwon Do.

Wonderful!! Your skills are visibly improving and so must your Self Control and Self Discipline as a Green Belt in Tae Kwon Do. You are starting to get more comfortable with the basic kicking and punching techniques. As your skills grow, so do you as an Individual, whether you know this or not.

The seed of Tae Kwon Do you planted as a White Belt took root as a Yellow Belt.

The significance of the Green Belt is that, just as a Green Plant Sprouts and reaches for the sun as it grows, YOU are mastering the basics in TaeKwonDo kicking and punching techniques. Preparing yourself with patience for a more advanced Leadership Role.

This transition rank belt (Green Belt is halfway to Black Belt) allows you to start developing this Leadership Role by helping the Lower Rank Belts. But when you, as a Green Belt, are allowed to demonstrate techniques you MUST show considerable Self Control and Discipline.

All the techniques, whether punching or kicking, must be executed with Exacting Precision, performed with Self Confidence, and explained with patience, SLOWLY,preferably while Executing the demonstration (mastery of Punching and Kicking Techniques will be detailed on upcoming pages).

Isn't it GREAT to actually be showing others what You have already Learned. Be sure to Teach with a Humble Attitude and keep in mind that "No question asked is a Dumb question." Meaning, anyone asking a question should be treated with Respect and not be made to feel ignorant or unimportant.

Keep your eyes on that Black Belt though, you are still a student as well. This Green Belt "hump" is where a lot of students get stuck. Your Self Defense skills are coming into view now so

Don't Give Up!

Exciting Karate Sparring is Coming up NEXT with the Blue Belt and then it is on to the Advanced Red Belt.
