Your Perseverance Has Prevailed!

Your Yellow Belt is Brand New!

Man, with good old fashion determination and perseverance, you whizzed through the White Belt Step and started building your Self Confidence right away!

GREAT JOB!!

Some people think that because the Yellow Belt is yellow it represents the Sun, not true. In Tae Kwon Do, it actually means the Earth, the place where all things planted will take root. Doesn't it feel wonderful to actually have a COLORED rank belt!

Let's not lose that momentum, though, because at the Yellow Belt level you haven't got a full measure of self esteem but still may be unsure of some things like...

  • Why do we seem to do the same things over and over?
  • When will I get to do those fancy techniques?
  • I Stretch all the time but I'm still not Really Getting Flexible.
  • Can I Start learning a few Advanced Techniques Now?

The enthusiasm people have after taking this first step in planting the seed of TaeKwonDo is rewarding. This IS a Great boost in Self Esteem for you, in fact, your Self-Confidence should be EXPLODING Right Now!

But, remember, this is a Process that takes Time and Determination. Don't get Over Confident and try to take on a gang of Hooligans just yet.

As you Advance in Tae Kwon Do, you will learn that the SPORT itself comes FIRST. The Self Defense part is really secondary and must be tempered with the TENETS of Tae Kwon Do.

You will see Higher Rank students doing some really cool kicking or punching techniques. Maybe a Jump Spin SideKick or Triple Spin Crescent Kick. You do not want to get ahead of yourself and try to perfect any really advanced techniques. Master the Basics First.

Have a little patience and a LOT of perseverance with your stretches as well.

SLOW and STEADY (you will hear this Over and Over) is the way to go. This prevents injury and strains which is important for Long Lasting Flexibility. And, Flexibility is the key to those Amazingly High Kicks!

Just Don't Give Up! This will come sooner than you think.

Let's Side Kick our way over to the GREEN BELT step... )-
